Absolutely beautiful movie. If you're an action type of watcher then this is a must. Animation and fights are absolutely incredible, your eyes will get blessed. If you havent watched Fate Stay Night or Fate Zero yet then you might be pretty confused watching this. The story is pretty good but its not really clear and the pacing felt kinda rushed but honestly the characters and animation made me not even care. Extremely good movie.

Overall I really enjoyed The first Heavens Feel adaption, and recommend it to people, but only if they have a decent understanding of the fate timeline, otherwise they will get very confused quickly as the foundation of the plot is basically a montage in the opening.

Rating: 7.0 It was a rushed adaptation. The biggest issue was the removal of all of Shirou's monologues consequently making a lot of his actions such as saving saber look random. Despite being 2 hours the pacing felt very fast if you didn't read the source material beforehand you would be completely lost. This is only part 1, and the third installment of the fate franchise so I don't expect it to re-explain everything but by design, it doesn't work as a standalone film. It just omitted too much detail especially Sakura's characterization. Pros: animation/art style is incredible, and they added anime original scenes like rider sucking Ayako's blood.
